Prof. dr. Suzana Djordjevic Milosevic

Prof. dr. Suzana Djordjevic Milosevic is an Associate Professor at Singidunum University in Belgrade in the Study Program Environment and Sustainable Development. By vocation, an agricultural engineer, she has a master’s degree and a doctorate in the field of agroecology. Her career started in science, at the Institute of Animal Husbandry. Since 2000, she has held the position of Assistant Minister in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of Serbia and Montenegro, first in charge of fisheries, hunting and organic agriculture, and then in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Serbia, international cooperation and rural development.

Prof. Djordjevic Milosevic is the founder of the first Network for Support of Rural Development in Serbia and one of the founders of the Standing Working Group for Regional Rural Development of Southeast Europe (SWG RRD). During almost 35 years of her professional career, she was engaged in several projects of international professional institutions and organizations (UN, EC, GEF / WB, etc.) and projects within the framework of international support of EU countries, as well as NGOs in the field of sustainable rural development, agro-biodiversity conservation and sustainable management of forest and wildlife resources, nature protected areas, systematization and conservation of naturally high-nature value farming (HNVF), pollution reduction from agriculture, improvement of traditional processing and small farms development, strengthening value chains of typical products, livestock, organic agriculture, local communities and rural tourism development.

Since 2008, she has been engaged as a rural development expert with the number of programs and projects of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). From 2010 to 2012, Prof. dr. Suzana Djordjevic Milosevic was the team leader of the FAO team in the United Nations Joint Program on Sustainable Tourism for Rural Development. As a lecturer she taught sustainable development, biodiversity, conservation of biological resources, food waste management etc..

Prof. dr. Suzana Djordjevic Milosevic is author of over 200 scientific and professional articles, studies, books, brochures, tourist guides, documentaries and educational films. She has worked in all countries of the Western Balkans, as well as Bulgaria, Italy, Georgia, Russia etc. as an expert consultant, lecturer and project manager. She is a passionate field worker-practitioner, who, in addition to her functions and office duties, constantly spends a large part of his working and free time working with local communities in rural areas.
