Basri Hyseni is from Kosovo* and studied/finished Faculty of Agriculture, at University of Pristina in 1987. He has worked in the Agriculture Faculty from 1992 – 1999 as assistant of the professor in the Livestock Department. Starting from 2003 to 2005 he worked in the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Rural Development in Kosovo* as Coordinator for monitoring and evaluation for Advisory Services Sector. He joined the EAR (European Agency for Reconstruction project the Institutional support to the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Rural Development from 2007 until 2009. From 2009 until 2012 he was responsible as Grant Manager to Swiss Helvetas Intercooperation for Competitive Fund for Horticulture. He worked from 2012 – 2015 as Head of Horticulture Department to local Non-Government Organization the Initiative of Agriculture and Development of Kosovo as Head of Horticulture Department: Involved in the different project development in Value chain analyses, to non-wood forest products (NWFP), fruits & vegetables; Identify the most profitable agriculture/animal husbandry and value chains that will permit farmers to pay (in principle) for agricultural advice;
As a freelance consultant has been engaged with all foreign donors and project implementers operating in Kosovo: USAID, GIZ, UNDP, NGO “Balkan Initiative” Belgium, NOVUS Consulting, UBO Consulting, Care International etc.
From 2016 until nowadays as Short-Term Expert to International Finance Corporation (IFC) – World Bank Group engaged as Agriculture Specialist in the development of the agricultural insurance system in Kosovo.
He is married and has three children: two daughters and a son. Lives in Shtime municipality In Kosovo*.
